Pre-Event Testing

I have received my COVID-19 vaccination. Can I be exempted from Pre-Event Testing (PET)? (Updated 17 Sep 21)

You are exempted from PET if you been fully vaccinated, i.e. has received the appropriate regimen or World Health Organisation Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) vaccines (e.g. Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna, AstraZeneca-SKBio, Serum Institute of India, Janssen, Sinopharm, Sinovac-CoronaVac) including their respective duration post-vaccination for the vaccine to be fully effective (please refer to summary in Annex A of VDS Information Sheet), and have your vaccination records ingested in MOH’s national IT systems.

You will need to bring along your mobile device with call or internet service, or updated TraceTogether (TT) app on the day of the event, business, or activity. If you do not have a mobile device, please bring along your working TT token. Our event staff will be able to retrieve vaccination status directly from MOH’s database using the SafeEntry (Business) app.

I have taken COVID-19 vaccination(s) overseas. Can I be exempted from PET? (Updated 24 Aug 2021)

Currently, only individuals with updated vaccination records in Singapore’s National Immunisation Registry are exempted from PET. If your records have not been ingested in the registry, you will have to produce proof of vaccination and take a serology test at an approved provider. More details on the process, including the list of the approved providers, can be found on MOH’s Post Vaccination Matters website.

You will need to bring along your mobile device with call or internet service, or updated TraceTogether (TT) app on the day of the event, business, or activity. If you do not have a mobile device, please bring along your working TraceTogether token. Our event staff will be able to retrieve your vaccination status directly from MOH’s database using the SafeEntry (Business) app.

From 21 August 2021, newly arrived Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, Long-Term Pass Holders (LTPH) and Short-Term Visit Pass Holders (STVPs) would be exempted from PET, if you produce a valid tamper proof, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) issued vaccination sticker on your passport or a valid negative result. These stickers would be valid until the end of your STVP validity or until 30 September 2021, 2359hrs, whichever is earlier.

From September, the IT systems will be enhanced such that travellers, upon verification of their eligible vaccination status at entry, will also be recognised by SE Biz App through their TT apps/ Tokens to be eligible for vaccination-differentiated safe management measures without needing to go through PET.

What should I do if I'm found to be ART-positive or ART twice-invalid1? (Updated 10 Aug 21)

You are required to seek a confirmatory PCR test as soon as possible and self-isolate until you obtain a negative PCR result.
You may obtain a government funded confirmatory PCR test at any Swab-and-Send Home (SASH) GP clinic. You will be required to present a standard MOH referral note issued by the ART Provider.
Alternatively, the ART Provider may refer you to a Regional Swab Centre (RSC).
Key event attendees/patrons (e.g. wedding couple/speakers/emcees) may wish to get your ART conducted at these clinics. These clinics have access to rapid PCR testing facilities (with approximately 3 hours) in the event that are you tested ART-positive and require a confirmatory PCR test. Please take note that the cost of all rapid PCR tests are self-funded and will not be borne by the Government.

1 An ART ‘twice-invalid’ test result means that your sample(s) has been tested twice by an ART provider and in there was no conclusive finding in both instances as to whether the you tested positive or negative. Anyone who tests twice-invalid is subject to the same requirements as an someone who tests ART-positive.
